# Roadtrippers vs MapWalker

The clearest difference is price: Roadtrippers at Free against MapWalker's $2.99. Roadtrippers also leads on rating (4.6 vs 1.0) and ratings volume (62K vs 1). MapWalker's advantage is review sentiment (40% vs 31%) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 17.0). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Roadtrippers is free to download; MapWalker costs $2.99 up front. Roadtrippers sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $35.99 per year and MapWalker sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Roadtrippers holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Roadtrippers has 62K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of Roadtrippers's written reviews are positive against 40% of MapWalker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Roadtrippers ships an update fortnightly, MapWalker every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
