# Roadtrippers vs RestMap

Roadtrippers and RestMap both sit at 4.6 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of RestMap's written reviews are positive against 31% of Roadtrippers's. RestMap also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). Roadtrippers's advantage is ratings volume (62K vs 14) and chart position (#47 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Roadtrippers sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $35.99 per year and RestMap sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Roadtrippers holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Roadtrippers has 62K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of Roadtrippers's written reviews are positive against 100% of RestMap's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Roadtrippers ships an update fortnightly, RestMap every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
