# Roadtrippers vs Polarsteps

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Polarsteps at 90% against Roadtrippers's 31%. Polarsteps also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). Roadtrippers's advantage is ratings volume (62K vs 10K). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Roadtrippers sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $35.99 per year and Polarsteps sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Polarsteps holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Roadtrippers has 62K ratings behind it against 10K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 31% of Roadtrippers's written reviews are positive against 90% of Polarsteps's.

Roadtrippers ships an update fortnightly, Polarsteps every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
