# ONLYOFFICE Documents vs Proton Drive

The clearest difference is rating: Proton Drive at 4.1 against ONLYOFFICE Documents's 3.6. Proton Drive also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 176). ONLYOFFICE Documents's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 9) and review sentiment (51% vs 37%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Proton Drive sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. ONLYOFFICE Documents asks for nothing beyond the download.

Proton Drive holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Proton Drive has 1.2K ratings behind it against 176, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 51% of ONLYOFFICE Documents's written reviews are positive against 37% of Proton Drive's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ONLYOFFICE Documents ships an update every 6 weeks, Proton Drive fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 14, 2026.
