# MSN vs Emergency WA

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Emergency WA at none against MSN's 1. Emergency WA also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 18.0). MSN's advantage is ratings volume (124K vs 2) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). On price, rating, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MSN sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $20.00 per month. Emergency WA asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for MSN against 4.5 for Emergency WA. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MSN has 124K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 38% of MSN's written reviews are positive against 41% of Emergency WA's.

MSN ships an update every 2 weeks, Emergency WA monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
