# edX online learning vs Uncommon U

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Uncommon U at none against edX online learning's 10. Uncommon U also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.0). edX online learning's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (82% vs 50%). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. edX online learning sells 9 one-off in-app purchases. Uncommon U asks for nothing beyond the download.

Uncommon U holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: edX online learning has 11K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of edX online learning's written reviews are positive against 50% of Uncommon U's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
