# Storm Tracker° vs Firespot

The clearest difference is ads: Firespot at none against Storm Tracker°'s shown. Firespot also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Storm Tracker°'s advantage is ratings volume (82K vs 6K) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Storm Tracker° sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Firespot sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $29.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Storm Tracker° against 4.7 for Firespot. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Storm Tracker° has 82K ratings behind it against 6K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 46% of Storm Tracker°'s written reviews are positive against 44% of Firespot's.

Storm Tracker° ships an update every 2 months, Firespot every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
