# Cylinder Game vs Octoblast

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Cylinder Game at 56% against Octoblast's 14%. Cylinder Game also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 13.0). Octoblast's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.1) and update cadence (every 10 days vs monthly). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cylinder Game sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Octoblast sells 22 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Octoblast holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Octoblast has 293 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Cylinder Game's written reviews are positive against 14% of Octoblast's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cylinder Game ships an update monthly, Octoblast every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
