# Activ8 POS vs CoastHills Mobile

The clearest difference is monetization model: Activ8 POS at free against CoastHills Mobile's free with in-app purchases. Activ8 POS also leads on iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). CoastHills Mobile's advantage is ratings volume (4.9K vs 9) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Activ8 POS against 4.8 for CoastHills Mobile. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CoastHills Mobile has 4.9K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Activ8 POS ships an update every 2 months, CoastHills Mobile every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
