# Bainu vs Hobby

The clearest difference is ads: Hobby at none against Bainu's shown. Hobby also leads on review sentiment (75% vs 65%). Bainu's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (60 vs 12). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bainu sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Hobby sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bainu holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bainu has 60 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 65% of Bainu's written reviews are positive against 75% of Hobby's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Bainu ships an update fortnightly, Hobby every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
