# Word Vault Essential vs BITS Lab

The clearest difference is rating: Word Vault Essential at 4.7 against BITS Lab's 3.9. Word Vault Essential also leads on ratings volume (2.2K vs 16) and device support (3 vs 1). BITS Lab's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Word Vault Essential sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. BITS Lab asks for nothing beyond the download.

Word Vault Essential holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Word Vault Essential has 2.2K ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Word Vault Essential's written reviews are positive against 67% of BITS Lab's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
