# Polarsteps vs Traverous

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Polarsteps at 10K against Traverous's 5. Polarsteps also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 weeks) and chart position (#57 vs unranked). Traverous's advantage is iOS requirement (10.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Polarsteps sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Traverous sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Polarsteps against 5.0 for Traverous. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Polarsteps has 10K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Polarsteps ships an update every 4 days, Traverous every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
