# Polarsteps vs Trip Planner

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Polarsteps at 10K against Trip Planner's 12. Polarsteps also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 weeks) and chart position (#55 vs unranked). Trip Planner's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 90%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Polarsteps sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Trip Planner sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Polarsteps against 4.9 for Trip Planner. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Polarsteps has 10K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 90% of Polarsteps's written reviews are positive against 100% of Trip Planner's.

Polarsteps ships an update every 4 days, Trip Planner every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
