# Polarsteps vs TripTrax

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Polarsteps at 10K against TripTrax's 2. Polarsteps also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 3 weeks) and chart position (#65 vs unranked). TripTrax's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 90%) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Polarsteps sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and TripTrax sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Polarsteps against 5.0 for TripTrax. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Polarsteps has 10K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 90% of Polarsteps's written reviews are positive against 100% of TripTrax's.

Polarsteps ships an update every 4 days, TripTrax every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
