# Flick Erasers vs AI Shogi

The clearest difference is rating: AI Shogi at 4.6 against Flick Erasers's 3.3. AI Shogi also leads on ratings volume (198 vs 8) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks). Flick Erasers's advantage is review sentiment (61% vs 44%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flick Erasers sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and AI Shogi sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AI Shogi holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AI Shogi has 198 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of Flick Erasers's written reviews are positive against 44% of AI Shogi's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Flick Erasers ships an update every 6 weeks, AI Shogi every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
