# Полиглот vs Learn German

The clearest difference is ads: Полиглот at none against Learn German's shown. Полиглот also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Learn German's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 5 months) and review sentiment (93% vs 75%). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Полиглот sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Learn German sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Полиглот holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Learn German has 835 ratings behind it against 49, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Полиглот's written reviews are positive against 93% of Learn German's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Полиглот ships an update every 5 months, Learn German every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
