# GenGold vs Maytag

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Maytag at 46K against GenGold's 29. GenGold's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 30%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.1). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Maytag holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Maytag has 46K ratings behind it against 29, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of GenGold's written reviews are positive against 30% of Maytag's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
