# Learn German vs DeutschSpeak

The clearest difference is ads: DeutschSpeak at none against Learn German's shown. Learn German's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (837 vs 3). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Learn German sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and DeutschSpeak sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Learn German holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Learn German has 837 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 93% of Learn German's written reviews are positive against 100% of DeutschSpeak's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Learn German ships an update every 9 days, DeutschSpeak every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
