# AusweisApp Bund vs EDEKA smart

The clearest difference is review sentiment: EDEKA smart at 96% against AusweisApp Bund's 34%. EDEKA smart also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). AusweisApp Bund's advantage is rating (4.2 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 8). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

AusweisApp Bund holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AusweisApp Bund has 1.1K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of AusweisApp Bund's written reviews are positive against 96% of EDEKA smart's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AusweisApp Bund ships an update every 2 months, EDEKA smart every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
