# Notoriety vs Notepad

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Notoriety at 80% against Notepad's 33%. Notoriety also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 16.6). Notepad's advantage is rating (4.3 vs 3.6) and ratings volume (64 vs 8). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notoriety sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Notepad sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notepad holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notepad has 64 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Notoriety's written reviews are positive against 33% of Notepad's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Notoriety ships an update every 6 months, Notepad every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
