# Notoriety vs Notepad

The clearest difference is rating: Notepad at 4.8 against Notoriety's 3.6. Notepad also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 5) and update cadence (monthly vs every 6 months). Notoriety's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 12.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notoriety sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Notepad asks for nothing beyond the download.

Notepad holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 8 and 22 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Notoriety's written reviews are positive against 79% of Notepad's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Notoriety ships an update every 6 months, Notepad monthly. The most recent releases landed on August 16, 2026 and September 26, 2026 respectively.
