# Tunr vs Spectrojam

The clearest difference is update cadence: Tunr at every 3 weeks against Spectrojam's every 3 months. Tunr also leads on ratings volume (199 vs 25) and iOS requirement (8.1 vs 15.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tunr sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Spectrojam sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Tunr holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tunr has 199 ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 72% of Tunr's written reviews are positive against 69% of Spectrojam's.

Tunr ships an update every 3 weeks, Spectrojam every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
