# Blackboard vs TIC+

The clearest difference is rating: TIC+ at 5.0 against Blackboard's 4.6. TIC+ also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly). Blackboard's advantage is ratings volume (443K vs 3) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

TIC+ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Blackboard has 443K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Blackboard ships an update monthly, TIC+ every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and September 17, 2026 respectively.
