# LukasView vs BlackVue

The clearest difference is rating: BlackVue at 3.8 against LukasView's 1.9. BlackVue also leads on ratings volume (2.7K vs 11) and chart position (#155 vs unranked). LukasView's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 12) and review sentiment (18% vs 9%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BlackVue sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. LukasView asks for nothing beyond the download.

BlackVue holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 1.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BlackVue has 2.7K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 18% of LukasView's written reviews are positive against 9% of BlackVue's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

LukasView ships an update monthly, BlackVue every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
