# The Wax Bar App vs Appointy

The clearest difference is rating: The Wax Bar App at 3.6 against Appointy's 2.2. The Wax Bar App also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.4). Appointy's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 15 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

The Wax Bar App holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Appointy has 52 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of The Wax Bar App's written reviews are positive against 22% of Appointy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

The Wax Bar App ships an update every 15 months, Appointy every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
