# Amcrest View Pro vs Scrypted

The clearest difference is rating: Scrypted at 5.0 against Amcrest View Pro's 2.7. Scrypted also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). Amcrest View Pro's advantage is ratings volume (2.4K vs 16) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 16.1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Scrypted holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Amcrest View Pro has 2.4K ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 27% of Amcrest View Pro's written reviews are positive against 33% of Scrypted's.

Amcrest View Pro ships an update every 3 months, Scrypted every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
