# ZigZag vs HAMMY

The clearest difference is rating: ZigZag at 4.2 against HAMMY's 3.6. ZigZag also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 11 months) and ratings volume (32K vs 18). HAMMY's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13.0). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ZigZag sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and HAMMY sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ZigZag holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ZigZag has 32K ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of ZigZag's written reviews are positive against 69% of HAMMY's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ZigZag ships an update every 2 months, HAMMY every 11 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
