# Global Sources vs MachTop

The clearest difference is rating: MachTop at 5.0 against Global Sources's 4.2. MachTop also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Global Sources's advantage is ratings volume (189 vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MachTop holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Global Sources has 189 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Global Sources ships an update monthly, MachTop every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
