# iAccel vs Race Buddy

The clearest difference is review sentiment: iAccel at 100% against Race Buddy's 43%. Race Buddy's advantage is rating (3.7 vs 1.0) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iAccel sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Race Buddy sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Race Buddy holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Race Buddy has 12 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of iAccel's written reviews are positive against 43% of Race Buddy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iAccel ships an update every 5 months, Race Buddy every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
