# Adobe Digital Editions vs ReadEra

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ReadEra at 60% against Adobe Digital Editions's 3%. ReadEra also leads on rating (4.2 vs 1.2) and chart position (#129 vs unranked). Adobe Digital Editions's advantage is ratings volume (2.6K vs 231) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ReadEra holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 1.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Adobe Digital Editions has 2.6K ratings behind it against 231, so its average is the more settled of the two.
