# hide.me VPN vs VPN

hide.me VPN and VPN both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 90% of VPN's written reviews are positive against 55% of hide.me VPN's. VPN also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (2.1M vs 8K). hide.me VPN's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and device support (5 vs 3). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. hide.me VPN sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for hide.me VPN against 4.6 for VPN. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 2.1M ratings behind it against 8K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 55% of hide.me VPN's written reviews are positive against 90% of VPN's.

hide.me VPN ships an update every 2 months, VPN weekly. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
