# hide.me VPN vs Urban Shield

The clearest difference is rating: hide.me VPN at 4.5 against Urban Shield's 2.9. hide.me VPN also leads on ratings volume (8K vs 8) and device support (5 vs 3). Urban Shield's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and review sentiment (75% vs 55%). On price, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. hide.me VPN sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Urban Shield asks for nothing beyond the download.

hide.me VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: hide.me VPN has 8K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of hide.me VPN's written reviews are positive against 75% of Urban Shield's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

hide.me VPN ships an update every 2 months, Urban Shield monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
