# Contacts2XL vs WinterWatch

The clearest difference is monetization model: Contacts2XL at free against WinterWatch's paid. Contacts2XL also leads on ratings volume (304 vs 1) and chart position (#81 vs unranked). WinterWatch's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 7 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Contacts2XL costs $0.99 and WinterWatch $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

WinterWatch holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Contacts2XL has 304 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Contacts2XL ships an update every 7 months, WinterWatch every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
