# Smart Marbles vs Hex

The clearest difference is update cadence: Smart Marbles at every 3 months against Hex's every 13 months. Hex's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Smart Marbles ships an update every 3 months, Hex every 13 months. The most recent releases landed on September 14, 2026 and September 19, 2026 respectively.
