# Carista OBD2 vs RSCHIP CHIPTUNING

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: RSCHIP CHIPTUNING at none against Carista OBD2's 14. RSCHIP CHIPTUNING also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Carista OBD2's advantage is ratings volume (4.2K vs 2) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Carista OBD2 sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. RSCHIP CHIPTUNING asks for nothing beyond the download.

RSCHIP CHIPTUNING holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Carista OBD2 has 4.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 34% of Carista OBD2's written reviews are positive against 25% of RSCHIP CHIPTUNING's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Carista OBD2 ships an update every 3 weeks, RSCHIP CHIPTUNING every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
