# GPS Odometer vs Distance Calculator

The clearest difference is rating: GPS Odometer at 3.3 against Distance Calculator's 1.0. GPS Odometer also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (137 vs 1). Distance Calculator's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 56%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

GPS Odometer holds the better App Store score, 3.3 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPS Odometer has 137 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of GPS Odometer's written reviews are positive against 67% of Distance Calculator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GPS Odometer ships an update every 4 months, Distance Calculator every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
