# GPS Odometer vs Pace Calculator

The clearest difference is rating: Pace Calculator at 4.8 against GPS Odometer's 3.3. GPS Odometer's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 4 months vs every 10 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pace Calculator sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. GPS Odometer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Pace Calculator holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPS Odometer has 137 ratings behind it against 16, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of GPS Odometer's written reviews are positive against 50% of Pace Calculator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GPS Odometer ships an update every 4 months, Pace Calculator every 10 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
