# Arach Chess vs Mythrel

The clearest difference is ads: Arach Chess at none against Mythrel's shown. Arach Chess also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 82%). Mythrel's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months) and rating (4.3 vs 4.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Arach Chess sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Mythrel sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mythrel holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mythrel has 25 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Arach Chess's written reviews are positive against 82% of Mythrel's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Arach Chess ships an update every 3 months, Mythrel every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
