# Prophytes vs HyNote

The clearest difference is rating: HyNote at 4.8 against Prophytes's 4.1. HyNote also leads on ratings volume (7.6K vs 36) and update cadence (weekly vs monthly). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Prophytes sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.00 per month and HyNote sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HyNote holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HyNote has 7.6K ratings behind it against 36, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 71% of Prophytes's written reviews are positive against 77% of HyNote's.

Prophytes ships an update monthly, HyNote weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
