# Syntorial vs XPad

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Syntorial at 95% against XPad's 50%. Syntorial also leads on rating (4.9 vs 3.8) and ratings volume (273 vs 24). XPad's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 5 months) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Syntorial sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and XPad sells 14 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Syntorial holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Syntorial has 273 ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 95% of Syntorial's written reviews are positive against 50% of XPad's.

Syntorial ships an update every 5 months, XPad every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
