# Clever Commute vs Choo Choo Tracker

The clearest difference is ads: Choo Choo Tracker at none against Clever Commute's shown. Choo Choo Tracker also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.1). Clever Commute's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 10 months) and ratings volume (134 vs 22). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Clever Commute sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $49.99 per year and Choo Choo Tracker sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Choo Choo Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Clever Commute has 134 ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 84% of Clever Commute's written reviews are positive against 80% of Choo Choo Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Clever Commute ships an update every 3 months, Choo Choo Tracker every 10 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
