No ads. No tracking. Ever. dB Meter is the professional sound level meter that protects your hearing — not your data. While other noise apps monetize you with ads and trackers, everything here runs on-device. Your audio is analyzed live on-device and never uploaded; optional Pro recordings stay on your device, under your control. MEASURE — REAL-TIME SOUND LEVEL METER A beautiful analog gauge with a live needle, color-coded safety zones and real-world comparisons like "Library quiet" or "Rock concert". Min, average and max readings at a glance, with haptic feedback as levels change. PROTECT — NIOSH-BASED NOISE DOSE dB Meter tracks your daily noise dose against the NIOSH recommended exposure limit (85 dBA over 8 hours). One glance tells you whether today's exposure is in the safe zone — and an alert warns you before your ears pay the price. UNDERSTAND — HISTORY & INSIGHTS Every measurement is saved automatically. Charts reveal your daily averages, exposure timeline against the 85 dB line, loudest days and category distribution — so you learn where your noise actually comes from. TUNED LIKE A PRO • dBA / dBC / dBZ frequency weighting • Custom calibration against a reference meter • NIOSH-aligned dose formula with time-weighted average (TWA) • Audio recording alongside measurements (optional, stays on your device) • CSV export of your measurement history BUILT FOR EVERY DAY • Streaks, badges and daily hearing tips keep you consistent • Streak freeze protects your progress when life happens • Home Screen widgets for one-tap measuring • Siri Shortcuts — start a measurement hands-free • Five hand-crafted themes with a premium dark-first design • Full VoiceOver support — live readings are spoken as they change FREE VS PRO Free users get the full real-time meter, frequency weighting basics and 7 days of history. WHY PRIVACY MATTERS Most sound meter apps are ad-funded, which means your microphone data feeds someone's ad business. dB Meter collects nothing: App Privacy label "Data Not Collected". Audio never leaves your device. That is a promise, not a setting. Built by an indie developer who cares about hearing health.
