# Performance Timer vs Timer®

The clearest difference is ads: Performance Timer at none against Timer®'s shown. Performance Timer also leads on review sentiment (83% vs 63%) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, rating, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Timer® holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 63 and 103 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Performance Timer's written reviews are positive against 63% of Timer®'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
