# Record vs Clicker Writer

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Record at 86% against Clicker Writer's 43%. Record also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). Clicker Writer's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.0). On price, ratings volume, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Clicker Writer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Record asks for nothing beyond the download.

Clicker Writer holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Record's written reviews are positive against 43% of Clicker Writer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Record ships an update fortnightly, Clicker Writer every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
