# Record vs SmartTeach

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Record at 86% against SmartTeach's 24%. Record also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). SmartTeach's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SmartTeach holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmartTeach has 1.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Record's written reviews are positive against 24% of SmartTeach's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Record ships an update fortnightly, SmartTeach monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
