# Tally vs GenCom

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: GenCom at none against Tally's 3. GenCom also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.5). Tally's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tally sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year. GenCom asks for nothing beyond the download.

Tally ships an update fortnightly, GenCom every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
