# GENIUSlink vs hearingOS

The clearest difference is rating: hearingOS at 4.1 against GENIUSlink's 2.8. hearingOS also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (2.4K vs 61). GENIUSlink's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 8) and review sentiment (24% vs 11%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. hearingOS sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. GENIUSlink asks for nothing beyond the download.

hearingOS holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: hearingOS has 2.4K ratings behind it against 61, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of GENIUSlink's written reviews are positive against 11% of hearingOS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GENIUSlink ships an update every 2 months, hearingOS every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
