# Tandem vs MAPS

The clearest difference is ads: MAPS at none against Tandem's shown. Tandem's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 months) and chart position (#185 vs unranked). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tandem sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and MAPS sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Tandem ships an update every 6 days, MAPS every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
