# FlyVPN vs Captions Maker

The clearest difference is monetization model: Captions Maker at free with in-app purchases against FlyVPN's subscription. Captions Maker also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). FlyVPN's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.4K vs 1). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FlyVPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $11.99 per month and Captions Maker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Captions Maker holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FlyVPN has 1.4K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

FlyVPN ships an update every 6 weeks, Captions Maker fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
