# Selfshot vs LuxCam

The clearest difference is rating: LuxCam at 4.8 against Selfshot's 3.9. LuxCam also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 61%) and ads (none vs shown). Selfshot's advantage is ratings volume (112 vs 6) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Selfshot sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and LuxCam sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LuxCam holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Selfshot has 112 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 61% of Selfshot's written reviews are positive against 100% of LuxCam's.

Selfshot ships an update every 6 weeks, LuxCam every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
